Responsibilities:
- Setting the bar, leading and developing a team of professionals and agencies specializing in regulatory affairs and government relationships, while taking ownership of Singda’s relationship with all authorities, regulators, and cities in the region.
- Leading political communications in Malaysia, and other markets in the region externally, while crafting Singda’s messaging and corporate communications to incoming media inquiries across Southeast Asian markets.
- Assist various departments in preparing and submitting relevant approval materials, and help obtain relevant qualifications and certificates. Keep track of all documentations and maintain a good track records of all documents and files prepared or filed for any relevant matters.
- Setting strategy and guidance on complex regulatory and compliance requirements and processes to commercial teams across the region.
- Leading the policy work of successfully expanding to new markets and verticals, independently or with partners, throughout Southeast Asia.
- Drafting annual strategies to achieve defined objectives in collaboration with commercial and product teams, with a regional focus.
- Ensuring Singda’s operations comply with licensing conditions through audits, external assessments, and applying for new licenses on a recurring basis in multiple jurisdictions.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in legal, compliance, public policy, or regulatory roles, preferably with experience in highly regulated environments and working with or for international companies.
- A thoughtful leader with demonstrable success in managing teams.
- With understanding of complex regulatory and licensing procedures relating to the alloy manufacturing sector or another regulated market.
- With demonstrable success in developing and executing advanced government relationship management strategies, regulatory, and corporate communications campaigns.
- Good political networks in Malaysia or the ability to develop such networks.
- An excellent writer and communicator - experienced at translating and simplifying complex requirements to give clear guidance to business colleagues. Knowledge of at least one regional language would be beneficial.
